What To Expect At Your Visit
My schedule is currently full and I'm not able to meet with new clients.
Perhaps you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Therapy could help as a process of self-discovery, empowerment, and growth. In my therapy sessions, I promote self-determination by encouraging awareness and new skills to face problems more effectively.
I provide individual and couples therapy for adults who have concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, career, body image, HIV/AIDS, lesbian/gay/bisexual/ transgender issues, and grieving.
I also provide group therapy for those in distress about their sexual/gender identity and religion, family, and/or other social situations.
Overall, I specialize in improving relationship dynamics, such as communication skills, intimacy, assertiveness, conflict resolution, and self-esteem. My research has focused on understanding how to resolve sexual, social, and religious conflicts. I have also been co-facilitating weekend retreats since 2005 for men who have been sexually abused (MenHealing.org).
I am a provider on many insurance panels and offer a sliding-fee scale for those who need it.
